I’m fortuante to be able to attend Chris Guillebeau’s event tonight where he’ll talk about his book The Art of Non-Conformity. He has a very popular blog by the same name that resonates with me in a big way. Chris wants people to get out of living the way every expects you to so you can do things that you would never have thought possible with your life.
Do you want to get to the end of your life and say you wished you would’ve watched more NCIS reruns? I doubt it. But isn’t that the conventional way of living life in modern-day America? Most people think they don’t have time to do what they really want to do. But why? Isn’t it kind of expected of us – to wile away our days, months, and years? But why conform to what’s normal when normal is useless and in the end completely unrewarding? It takes courage to break out of expectations and do what you’re made to do. You weren’t made to sit on the couch for two months a year? Break away and master The Art of Non-Conformity.
